Smoke House Barbecue
The Smoke House Barbecue is the best BBQ place in Rockford, Illinois. It may look simplistic on the outside, but on the inside, it is a nice 50s feel and a friendly attitude. Most of the customers seem to like this place, and it’s because the food is delicious. The barbeque is to die for. Not to mention the amazing fries, and that they hand smoke everything fresh.

I can't rave enough about my recent visit! As someone who has been on the lookout for good barbecue, this place truly exceeded my expectations. The moment I walked in, I was greeted with the warm, smoky aroma that instantly made my mouth water. I decided to go with the brisket platter, and let me tell you, it was incredible. The brisket was so tender, it practically melted in my mouth! The bark was crispy and packed with flavor, while the inside was juicy and cooked to perfection. I also tried the homemade coleslaw and baked beans, and they were the perfect complements to the meat. The staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which made the whole experience very enjoyable. My only tiny suggestion would be to have a few more dessert options, maybe something unique to really finish off the meal. Overall, this place is a hidden gem for barbecue lovers, and I can’t wait to return for more! I'm already dreaming about the next time I can sink my teeth into that brisket again.

I visited this spot last week and was pretty impressed with the experience overall! The pulled pork was hands down one of the best I've had. It was smoky, juicy, and had just the right amount of seasoning. The sides were excellent too; particularly, the mac and cheese was creamy and comforting! The staff was welcoming and quick to check in, which made me feel valued as a customer. The vibe was relaxed and homey, perfect for enjoying a hearty meal. My only suggestion would be to maybe offer a few more unique appetizers. I tried the wings, and while they were delicious, they felt a little standard. However, that didn't detract from the overall meal. I’d definitely make the trip again; there’s something special about their barbecue that I can’t quite put my finger on!

What a delightful surprise! I ended up here after hearing some friends rave about it, and I can totally see why. The ribs were the highlight of my meal; they had an excellent smoky flavor and were fall-off-the-bone tender. I also loved the variety of sauces available—each one had a unique twist. The atmosphere was casual and welcoming, making it perfect for a relaxed dinner with friends. The only hiccup was the wait time, which was a bit longer than I expected, but considering how busy it was, I can understand why. Once we were seated, everything moved smoothly, and the service was prompt. I definitely recommend the pulled pork sandwich; it was flavorful and generously portioned! I can't wait to bring my family next time. They will love it!

I had a great experience here! The BBQ was on point, especially the smoked sausage, which had a delightful spicy kick. The staff was friendly and helpful, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. The only downside was that it took a bit longer than expected to get our food, but the taste made up for it! I would recommend it to anyone who loves good barbecue.
